Services
Pack Hiking
Pack hikes take place on forested trails that always have a fresh water supply(brook, stream, pond) for drinking and recreational swimming! The duration of the hikes are a MINIMUM of 1.5 hours- but typically last 2+ hours. Owner Julia Ravlin will pick up and return the dog(s) to their home for each pack adventure. During this time Julia focuses on each dog’s emotional state so that she can help them learn to be calm and happy!
Dogs ideal for this service are over the age of 1 year, are in good health, love other dogs and people, and already have learned or are in process of learning off-leash recall.

training
Julia offers a Behavioral Modification Style Training called Training Between The Ears(TBTE). This system was developed by Mark and Stephanie McCabe out of Maryland. The TBTE system is for any dog, at any age! From a puppy just learning to become optimistic about life and keeping that outlook for life, to the fearful adult dog that needs help feeling safe and learn to become optimistic.
TBTE focuses primarily on teaching dogs relaxation as a skill and Free Shaping behaviors. From there- teaching Obedience, Agility, or any other fun tricks is so easy! The TBTE system not only teaches a dog relaxation as a skill, but it opens up an entire world of communication between owners and dogs and resolves human/canine conflicts.
Training appointments are setup week to week typically. Julia prefers to meet with clients on a week to week basis, being available as many weeks as needed, versus packages. Since every dog is unique and learns at their own pace. Reach out today to learn more!
About
Meet Julia
Julia Ravlin, a Vermont Native, was born with a deep connection to animals. She has worked with animals in a variety of settings throughout her life. A kennel worker trained as a vet assistant at her local Veterinary hospital at the age of 15, as well as working for the local doggie daycare and boarding provider, she proceeded to become a Veterinarian Technician. After a little over 6 years she decided being a Vet Tech was not the right path and pursued her interests in farming. Julia found herself working at the local Dog Daycare and Boarding facility yet again as she missed working with dogs so much! After learning of the idea of an off-leash pack that works with dogs in a natural and more relaxed environment, Julia knew this was where her path would continue.
Meet Baxter
Baxter is a red heeler mix that Julia rescued from South Carolina through Maple Leaf Mutts in Rutland, VT. When Baxter and Julia met it was love at first sight!
"When I first saw him in his transport vehicle, our eyes locked and his soul sent me a message of "will you keep me please?" My heart said yes before my mind did."
Baxter came to Julia with a love of other dogs and passion for retrieving, but also with a high prey drive that is very common being part Australian Cattle Dog and having the instinctual need to work or hunt. Throughout the last couple of years Baxter has achieved a 3-second or less re-call of leash- a HUGE achievement for a dog with a high prey drive. Baxter has tremendously helped build Ravlin's Pack Adventures, and continues to become the perfect ambassador for off-leash adventures with the pack!
Julia is a graduate of the My Dog Camp course taught by Rhonda Bilodeau, a certified dog trainer and owner of Vermont Dog Pack.
Ravlin's Pack Adventures is insured under the Business Insurers of the Carolina's. Julia is a member of IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals).
